This playbook starts not from technology but from an observation validated over and over: phone wallpapers are among the easiest virtual goods to self-fulfill in Chinese social commerce. Three Bilibili creators run the same script — open Jimeng AI or Doubao, imitate the prompts behind wallpapers already going viral on Xiaohongshu (RED), batch out dozens of high-resolution 9:16 images, then open a Xiaohongshu store with zero deposit, list the images as products at RMB 3.99 to 9.9, and post notes daily to funnel traffic into the store. The most striking footage in the videos is a creator pulling up a competitor store's back office: one wallpaper had sold 5,000 to 7,000 units cumulatively, and one store had done RMB 90K in total sales. Those numbers create a powerful get-rich-quick feeling — but note clearly that they are all relayed screenshots scraped from other people's stores, not first-party evidence from the creators' own dashboards. What's genuinely replicable is the fulfillment chain itself: zero inventory, zero shipping, automatic delivery of virtual goods — the system sends the image the moment a customer orders, and all you do is keep producing images and posting notes. That means marginal cost is essentially zero, one person can run it, and it can even be cloned into a network of stores. The barrier is low enough to start the same day, which is exactly why it's good practice — and also why its ceiling is inevitably low.
