Turn a customer's own photo into a hand-drawn doodle-style birthday portrait with AI and sell emotional value on Xiaohongshu (RED) at RMB 9.9 an order.
RMB 9.9-13.14 per unit
Zero cost taken to the extreme: the customer supplies the photo, the customer writes the caption, and all you do is run it through AI to make a hand-drawn doodle. What you're selling is the emotional payoff of “posting it and racking up likes” — and the referral rate is enormous.

What makes this one elegant is how far it pushes zero cost. Ordinary AI e-commerce still requires you to generate the assets; here you don't supply assets at all — the customer sends their own photo, the customer writes their own caption, and all you do is run that photo through AI to turn it into a hand-drawn doodle-style birthday portrait. RMB 9.9 a piece. What the customer is buying isn't an image at all — it's the emotional value of “this will get likes on WeChat Moments.” Posting a doodle-style version of yourself on your birthday, with a friend's message attached, reliably pulls a wave of likes and comments; that feeling of being seen and celebrated is worth the price of a bubble tea. And precisely because it's an emotional gift, it carries a very high referral rate by nature: one person posts it, gets complimented, and their friends immediately ask “where did you get that made?” The benchmark numbers the creator shows are eye-catching: a competitor's hit listing sold 12,000-16,000 units, which at RMB 13.14 apiece works out to roughly RMB 210,000 in cumulative sales. But as with similar projects, these are screenshots scraped off someone else's storefront and relayed secondhand — cumulative sales, not monthly revenue, with no first-party dashboard evidence from the creator. What's genuinely replicable is the very smart entry point: the raw materials are handed to you free by the customer, and you pocket the arbitrage on the AI processing step.
Everything runs through one channel: a Xiaohongshu (RED) shop, where a note with a product link attached takes the order without a conversation. The first move is not a sales post.

Data credibility: The creator shows screenshots of a competitor's listing (“16,000 units sold × RMB 13.14 ≈ RMB 210,000”) — relayed from someone else's storefront, with no first-party dashboard evidence. That is cumulative sales, not monthly revenue, so revenueMo is set to null. All revenue figures are founder-reported or estimated by the video creator — unaudited.
The first order is RMB 9.9, and the whole transaction finishes in one sitting. The buyer taps the link on the note, sends their own photo and the birthday line they want on it, and gets a hand-drawn doodle portrait back within minutes.
Three loops stack here, and the first one lives inside the product.
The first stretch without feedback is structural: roughly a week of warming the account with ordinary life notes before a single listing goes up, then however long it takes for a note to reach someone with a birthday approaching. Likes are the wrong instrument for reading that period.
