Claude Code has more receipts. ProvenStartups indexes 49 revenue-bearing projects tied to Claude Code and 26 tied to Gemini, and ten Claude Code figures carry third-party verification against three on the Gemini side. The Gemini column is thin — read it that way. A second asymmetry matters too: in our case files Gemini usually appears as the *model* (Nano Banana generating artwork, Gemini inside somebody's five-tool stack), while Claude Code appears as the *agent that wrote the product*. Read it as Google's models versus Anthropic's agent.

Which tool has more revenue evidence behind it?
Claude Code, by close to two to one on case count and better than three to one on verified figures: 49 indexed projects against 26, ten ✅ verified numbers against three. Six projects sit on both lists, so these are overlapping populations rather than rival camps.
Our four grades: ✅ third-party verified means a figure visible outside the founder's own word — a QuickBooks or Shopify dashboard refreshed on camera, a Sensor Tower ranking. 🗣 founder-reported means the operator said it and we could not check. 📎 creator-relayed means a creator quoted someone else's number. 🔮 unproven means a believed-in market with no earned revenue.
Case counts are not a benchmark. Neither Google's Gemini CLI nor Anthropic's Claude Code was tested here on controlled tasks. The gap measures which tool the people who film their dashboards happen to use. We grade every coding tool the same way.

What do the two sides look like side by side?
These are the strongest cases on each side, graded. Read the grade before the figure: a $115K/mo number relayed by a creator and a $300/mo number verified down to 33 paying subscribers are not the same kind of fact, however different their size.
| Project | Reported result | Evidence | Tier | Side |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CoinSnap identifier-app portfolio | $500K/mo, top identifier app (Sensor Tower) | ✅ | Tier 1 | Claude Code |
| Mine Marketing | $140K/mo, <50 clients, 6 people | ✅ | Tier 2 | Gemini |
| nano-banana.ai | ≈$115K/mo net profit (one month) | 📎 | Tier 1 | Gemini |
| Subscribr | $30K/mo subscriptions | ✅ | Tier 2 | Claude Code |
| Prayer Lock | $21K/mo, 58K downloads in 6 months | ✅ | Tier 1 | Gemini |
| Payout | $20K/mo in 50 days | ✅ | Tier 2 | Claude Code |
| Max's 28-app portfolio | $10K/mo, 1,000+ subscriptions | 🗣 | Tier 1 | Gemini |
| Frey's restroom-trailer directory | $273/day, one $20K+ lead | 🗣 | Tier 1 | Claude Code |
| Dreamtales | ~$300/mo, 33–34 subscribers | ✅ | Tier 1 | Gemini |
| Fluently | ~$100 MRR, ~breakeven on ad spend | ✅ | Tier 2 | Claude Code |
Do not average that table. Mine Marketing is the largest verified Gemini figure, a six-person website-and-hosting operation; CoinSnap is a portfolio company. The honest solo benchmarks sit in the middle — Payout at $20K/mo, Prayer Lock at $21K/mo, BridgeMind at $242,964 ARR, all ✅.
Fluently and Dreamtales are in the table on purpose. Both are verified. Verified-and-small is what a launch looks like, and a page showing only six-figure rows is selling you something.
Where does each tool's case list cluster?
Claude Code clusters in software and productized services; Gemini clusters in content and publishing. Of the 49 Claude Code cases, 24 are SaaS (15) or AI services (9). Of the 26 Gemini cases, seven are AI content or digital publishing — against two of 49 on the Claude Code side.
Team shape barely differs, which kills a popular claim: 37 of 49 Claude Code cases and 19 of 26 Gemini cases are solo-run — both roughly three quarters. Neither tool is more of a one-person multiplier than the other.
The category split is the real signal. Gemini's earners are pipelines that make media at volume — Nano Banana drawing books on KDP estimated at $711–800+/day 📎, and ghost-niche faceless news channels reporting $30,000+ across four channels in 90 days 🗣. Claude Code's earners have a login or an invoice: directories, plugins, and a local SEO service billing several-thousand-dollar monthly retainers 🗣.
One asymmetry cuts against Claude Code: it is the only side carrying ⚠️ cautionary tales, two of 49. That is not proof Gemini builders fail less — we have followed more Claude Code stories to the end.

How much should you trust each side's numbers?
Moderately, and unevenly. Claude Code grades 10 ✅, 21 🗣, 8 📎, 10 🔮. Gemini grades 3 ✅, 14 🗣, 8 📎, 1 🔮. Both are dominated by founder reports — the honest state of this category — but the tails differ, and tails are where readers get misled.
Claude Code's bigger pile collects more speculation: ten 🔮 entries, including corporate Claude training quotable at $10K–40K per engagement and an unreleased Unity card game with no revenue. Ideas, not results.
The Gemini side hides a subtler trap. Humanize AI Pro is a two-page site pulling 2.6M organic visits a month per Ahrefs — a checkable number. Its widely quoted $200K–$500K/mo revenue is reported by nobody; it is a creator's one-percent-conversion arithmetic. Traffic that size is a real asset. Multiplying it by an assumed conversion rate is not revenue.
Which one should you actually pick?
Pick by what you ship, not by case count. If the output is a maintained product with paying users, Claude Code's evidence base is deeper. If the output is images, video, or books at volume, the Gemini side is where the money actually shows up.
- 1.Building a paid product solo. Claude Code. Payout, BridgeMind, and Subscribr are all ✅ verified in the $20K–30K/mo band, each a narrow product with one obvious buyer. Start with what Claude Code is, then the fifty-project cohort.
- 2.Your product is media. Gemini. Drawing books and faceless channels are asset-generation businesses; Nano Banana is why those categories opened. The constraint is distribution, not code.
- 3.Selling to local businesses. Either. Mine Marketing does $140K/mo ✅ selling websites and hosting; the Claude Code SEO service sells retainers. Both sell an outcome, and no buyer ever asked which model wrote it.

What these numbers cannot tell you
They cannot tell you which tool is better. This index has a hard selection bias: we record only businesses whose operators published numbers, usually on video while promoting something. That filter favours tools with loud communities, and Claude Code has the louder one.
Attribution is looser than a table implies. Six projects — including the AEO service and an anonymous 3D web studio — sit on both lists because their builders use both. Most operators run one agent for code and another for assets; the "versus" framing is a search-query artefact.

Frequently asked questions
Is Gemini CLI worse than Claude Code?
Nothing here shows that. We count 26 Gemini-tagged revenue cases against 49 for Claude Code, but a case count measures publishing behaviour, not code quality. No controlled task comparison exists in this dataset. Treat the gap as a statement about which community films its dashboards, then choose on how well a tool lets you review and maintain what you ship.
Why does the Gemini side have so few verified cases?
Three of 26 Gemini cases carry third-party verification, against ten of 49 for Claude Code. Part of that is set size. Part is that the Gemini cluster leans toward content and publishing, where revenue spreads across AdSense, print-on-demand royalties, and platform payouts — harder to show on one screen than an App Store dashboard.
Which case is the cleanest solo benchmark on each side?
On the Claude Code side, Payout: $20K/mo reached in 50 days, verified, one clear user action. On the Gemini side, Prayer Lock: $21K/mo with 58K downloads in six months, also verified, also single-purpose. They are nearly the same size, built for different audiences, and far more copyable than the outliers above them.
Does a verified grade mean the business is safe to copy?
No. Verified means the stated figure was visible outside the founder's own claim. It says nothing about churn, margins, market size, or whether the window is still open, and some of these figures describe a first month live. Use the grade to weigh a number, then judge whether you can reach the buyer.
