A focused Notion integration makes database forms shareable, then monetizes advanced features with subscriptions.

Forms are viral by design: every form a NoteForms user shares shows the product to the people filling it in. Julien Nahum built the MVP in six days after Notion opened its API and grew it to about $37K MRR.
Fewer bars = easier, cheaper, or faster for an AI-assisted solo builder. Editorial judgments based on the case details.
NoteForms, launched as NotionForms, is a form builder for Notion users founded by Julien Nahum, a software engineer who built side projects during a three-hour daily commute. Nahum built an MVP in six days after Notion released its API, adapting a familiar Airtable-style form workflow for people already using Notion databases. He reports close to 100,000 registered users and about $37,000 in monthly recurring revenue at the time of the interview. The product initially launched free in Notion communities, then converted feature requests into a paid tier: users could try marked Pro features during beta, and the founder later switched on subscriptions. His first recorded sale was a $90 annual subscription. Nahum describes working solo for the first year, later adding support, and eventually running a small team. He says the product uses Laravel, Vue, PostgreSQL, AWS, and several analytics and support tools. The revenue and user figures are founder-reported, not independently audited.
NoteForms had a natural first audience: people already building workflows in Notion and looking for forms connected to their databases. Nahum launched the free MVP into Notion-related Reddit communities and Facebook groups, where users were actively discussing the platform and its tools.

Data credibility: Julien Nahum reports close to 100,000 registered users, about $37K MRR and his monthly costs (about $5K team salaries, $1K servers and tools, $3K Google Ads, $2K freelancers) in a Starter Story interview. Starter Story's intro rounds this to over $400,000 a year. No payment dashboard, churn data or independent financial records are shown.
The first dollar arrived after NoteForms had accumulated users and a backlog of requested features. Nahum added visible Pro labels to capabilities while the product was free in beta, explaining that those features would become paid.
NoteForms benefits from an embedded distribution loop: a user creates a form, shares or embeds it, and respondents encounter the product while completing that form. If the creator includes a tasteful “Made with” link or a useful branded footer, each form can introduce the tool to another potential user.
A small SaaS can have long pauses between sales even after a promising launch. NoteForms’ first $90 annual purchase arrived after a day of refreshing the subscription dashboard, then a few more followed, then a three-day stretch without a sale.
