Umberto is not a developer. He studied economics, raised seed funding for a startup that failed in 2012, then left tech entirely โ he worked as a ski instructor and a fashion photographer before coming back in 2016 as an advertising and growth strategist. In 2020, during COVID, he and his girlfriend launched Play Pause Be, a brand selling physical decks of yoga cards that help teachers and practitioners build and run sequences. They launched the first product on Kickstarter and generated over $200,000 in the first month. About eighteen months before this interview he decided the physical brand could be carried forward with software without losing what he calls the mindful core, sketched the concept one evening, found a developer a few months later, and started building. Flogga pre-launched in May 2025. He showed Pat Walls the revenue card on camera: the launch went live May 5th at 2:00 p.m. and by end of day the app had generated $117,000. His stated total for the full 24 hours is over $120,000, from roughly 500 to 600 early customers. At the time of recording the app had about 4,000 active users across paid and free tiers and was doing between $9,000 and $10,000 a month in recurring revenue. Our read: the launch number is the headline, but the transferable asset is the Kickstarter muscle memory โ he had already run this exact play with a physical product.

Umberto shared his revenue card on camera showing $117,000 by end of launch day, and states $120,000+ over the full 24 hours, ~4,000 active users, and $9K-$10K/mo current recurring revenue. All figures are self-reported and unaudited โ the dashboard was shown on screen but not independently verified, and the split between paid and free within the 4,000 users was not broken out. The $200,000 Kickstarter figure for the earlier physical product is also self-reported. Pricing tiers were given as approximate ('around $109', 'around $199', 'around $349').
