Designjoy is Brett Williams's one-person design subscription. He saw an agency selling unlimited graphic design for a flat monthly fee and applied the model to what he was fastest at: landing pages, branding and product design. He built a one-page Webflow site and a Trello workflow in a day (he says six or seven hours; the Playbook creator says about 12 hours and $29), launched it on Product Hunt, and priced unlimited requests at $449 a month. The first client paid within 24 hours. As demand grew he raised prices to $1,000, $3,000 and then $5,000 a month. Each client gets a Trello board, submits requests in writing, and has one active request at a time; there are no Zoom calls or Slack. Williams ran it beside a full-time job for three and a half years, quit when it reached $80,000 a month, and says revenue doubled the next month. He now serves about 20 clients alone on $176 a month of tools, and adds income from a template pack and a course.
Designjoy's first customers came from a launch, not outreach. Williams posted the one-page site on Product Hunt, which he calls a cliche way to launch, and its daily traffic was enough to bring early interest and clients right away.

Data credibility: Brett Williams states the ~$5,000/month package, ~20 clients, $80,000/month at the time he quit and $176/month tool costs himself in a Starter Story interview; the $1.3M/year figure is the interviewer's, and the price ladder, 16+ clients, Scribbles downloads, 29% info-product share and ~$1.8M/year come from a creator's Playbook video. Nothing is audited; a garbled "$88,000 a month" top price in the Playbook audio is excluded.
The first dollar came from a stranger buying the subscription directly on the landing page, at $449 a month, within 24 hours of launch. There was no sales call and no proposal: the client picked the plan, paid, and got a Trello board immediately, which Williams describes as a big selling point of a productized service.
The flywheel was price, not volume. Every few months of steady demand let Williams raise the rate for new clients, from $449 to $1,000, then $3,000, then $5,000 a month, and higher prices brought better clients.
Williams's hardest stretch was not a lack of customers but a lack of confidence.
