Every UGC creator ghosted him, so he generated the creator instead — an AI ads platform for e-commerce brands at $10K MRR seven months after launch.

Fewer bars = easier, cheaper, or faster for an AI-assisted solo builder. Editorial judgments based on the case details.
Alex is a 28-year-old Danish founder with a finance and computer science degree. He ran a VC-backed startup out of university, exited it after about a year, then bounced through strategy consulting and software engineering jobs before deciding he "just wanted to make internet money and build internet businesses." He built side projects while employed. The thing that made him quit was a tweet that unexpectedly did three million views: "I don't normally get 3 million views. This is a huge signal for me." Starpop came out of his own marketing failure. He was building an earlier product, AI Flow Chat, and everyone on X was preaching UGC creator marketing as the cheap channel for consumer apps. So he went looking for UGC creators to partner with — and every single one ghosted him. Then Sora 2 shipped. He typed a prompt asking for a UGC video about AI Flow Chat, got back a completely realistic video of a person talking about his product, ran it as a Meta ad, and it performed. "Holy expletive, this is a huge opportunity," is how he describes the moment, and the reason is specific: he had confirmed the problem was his own, and he knew from watching X that thousands of other indie hackers and founders had exactly the same one. He and his co-founder David went from zero lines of code to a paying customer in seven days. Seven months later Starpop is at $10K MRR, and his two products together are at $15K MRR.

Customer count, retention, churn, gross margin and cost-per-generation are all undisclosed, which is the biggest gap — a metered AI video product's viability lives or dies on those numbers. The pricing spread ($30-$900) and the tech stack are checkable against the public product. The video's own title ("I built a $10K MRR SaaS in 7 days") is inaccurate on its face: by his own account the 7-day sprint produced one paying customer and the product has been live about seven months.
