Oleg Campbell launched Reply.io in 2015 after putting an earlier QR-code business on autopilot. That earlier company had topped out at $150K annually, and he redirected money from it toward a larger opportunity: software that replaced routine sales work with automation. He put roughly $30K into Reply, hired two Ukrainian developers, and led marketing and sales himself. The product began with email sending and follow-ups, then added the ability to initiate phone calls, with a broader goal of automating more of the path to a sales meeting. At the time of the interview, Reply had 1,000 customers, 34 employees and $100K in monthly revenue. Plans ranged from $25 to $120 per user, with average spend near $90 monthly. Campbell described four profitable months and an operation close to break-even because most profit was reinvested. The interview places sales in Canada and development and marketing in Ukraine; the team included 15 developers. These are historical founder-reported figures, not current operating metrics.
