Premise Data runs a two-sided market research platform. It recruits ordinary contributors through social media, trains them in an app, then routes them to small data-collection tasks posted by enterprise clients. Aggregated submissions give brands, governments, and other institutions a view of conditions on the ground. CEO Mari Blackman described a global contributor pool spanning 120 countries. One early use case had AB InBev measure beer freshness by capturing information from product labels across markets; the work took weeks rather than the three to six months a conventional study could take. Typical customers paid about $100,000 annually through use-it-or-lose-it credits. Blackman said the company had signed its 80th customer, had about $20 million in run rate after roughly $10 million a year earlier, and reported 250–300% net dollar retention at that early stage. The interview places the company in San Francisco and says it was founded in 2012. Blackman joined in 2018, narrowed the initial focus to three verticals, and named AB InBev, Western Union, Facebook, the Gates Foundation, and US and UK government entities among early customers.

He said Premise had about $20 million in run rate, 80 customers, roughly $100,000 typical annual customer value, and 250–300% net dollar retention while the customer base was still early. The interview also reports growth from about $10 million run rate a year earlier and names early customers and an AB InBev study. These statements are not third-party verified; retention may normalize as cohorts mature.
