An AI social-media marketing tool that got to $100K ARR in six months by marketing itself with a fake AI creator — then tripled its price by going B2B
$100K ARR on Stripe · 6 months from launch · premium tier at $300/mo
Fewer bars = easier, cheaper, or faster for an AI-assisted solo builder. Editorial judgments based on the case details.
The founder is blunt about his track record: fourteen apps over five years, the first eight made exactly $0, and apps nine through fourteen peaked at maybe $2,000 MRR. Before Yorbi he and his cofounder had built Perfect Interview (AI interview prep) and Monty (an AI meeting recorder), neither of which went anywhere. "I've been out here slogging away doing this for years and this is a huge milestone that I never thought I would hit." The difference this time was that they built inside their own expertise. Both are social media creators — between them, cumulatively over a million followers — and both had done social media marketing for other tech startups as a service. Yorbi is that service turned into software. The timeline is unusually clean. They started building in October, and spent October through early December heads-down with no attempt to get customers. In December, while both cofounders were separately travelling in Asia, the growth cofounder decided to "warm up the accounts, play around with some experiments and marketing formats" ahead of a planned January push. Stripe notifications started arriving mid-holiday. By January 1st, 2026 they were at $640 MRR. From there: a fast climb to about $5K MRR by February-March, then a hard plateau in the $5-7K range for two to three months, then a jump in early June to $8,400 MRR — which is $100K ARR, and which Stripe's own dashboard confirms on screen during the video. The plateau break is the interesting part of the story and it came from a pricing change, not a marketing one.

Growth milestones ($640 MRR on Jan 1, ~$5K by Feb-March, plateau at $5-7K, $8,400 in June) come from the founder narrating over his own dashboard. The claim that removing the free tier added ~$1K MRR in 2-3 weeks is an unverified before/after with no control. Customer count, churn, CAC, gross margin and AI generation costs are never disclosed. The named third party (Magic Patterns, a YC company) is cited as the first $300/mo customer but does not appear in the video to confirm it. No tech stack or cost breakdown is given anywhere.
