A browser tool that lets IT admins deploy apps to Microsoft Intune in one click — so boring nobody copies it, yet it makes $60K/mo
$910K/yr revenue
Don't fight over hot AI spaces — go build the niche pain point that's "so boring nobody wants to touch it": manually packaging an app in Intune took him an hour, a whole forum of IT admins felt the same pain, so he turned that one thing into a one-click tool.

Thomas is by day an IT guy who deals with Microsoft Intune every single day. Intune is Microsoft's device-management platform, and for an enterprise IT admin to push a piece of software uniformly to every computer in the company, they first have to "package" the app into a format Intune can recognize — a step that takes nearly an hour to do by hand and is easy to get wrong. Thomas had been tortured by this step enough, and out came the plainest possible idea: turn this one thing into a one-click tool. He didn't rush to write code — first he went to the forums where IT admins gather to confirm: was he the only one who found it annoying? It turned out a whole swath of peers had the exact same pain, and existing solutions were either too technical (you had to write your own scripts) or too expensive (heavyweight tools aimed at big enterprises). With demand validated, he built an MVP, launched it completely free on Reddit, and quickly got real traffic and feedback (and some flak too). Once the product was stable, he introduced a $25/mo subscription and started charging. On the strength of this one "so boring nobody wants to touch it" niche tool, he grew annual revenue from $447K to $910K, currently around $60,000/mo, 100% bootstrapped with not a cent of outside funding, and with extremely low churn among enterprise IT customers.
The first customers came from the forums where the complaint already lived.

Data credibility: Founder Thomas showed the backend in the video: grown from $447K to $910K annual revenue, now around $60,000/mo; a $25/mo subscription; 100% bootstrapped with no outside funding; the exact number of paying users and churn weren't shown, but he reported extremely low churn (enterprise IT customers). All revenue figures are founder-reported or estimated by the video creator — unaudited.
The first payment came from switching the free tier off, not from a sales motion. Once the early bugs were fixed and the platform had stabilised on the back of the Reddit feedback, "we decided to bring in a $25 US dollar subscription fee per month.
The turn came from borrowed authority. "Once we moved past the initial beta phase, probably the most effective strategy and something I'd recommend for everyone is partnering with people who specialize in the product" — here, Microsoft MVPs, whose audience is made almost entirely of the IT admins the product sells to.
Two things made the quiet part survivable. The first is that it ran alongside a full-time IT job, so no runway clock forced a verdict before the evidence arrived — which mattered, because the build was slow: "this was before AI coding tools like Cursor and Claude Code existed.
