A non-coder builds the internal tools his friend's insurance agency actually needed, charges the agents monthly, then resells the same pattern as a $2,500 quiz funnel
$2,500 received for one AI quiz funnel · 3 paid one-to-one clients · 'thousands of dollars' total, self-described
"Think of companies and people that you know that need internal tools" — his entire moat is that a friend owns an insurance agency, and that friend's agents will pay $37 a month for software written by someone who has never written a line of code.
Fewer bars = easier, cheaper, or faster for an AI-assisted solo builder. Editorial judgments based on the case details.
Zach Babiarz started vibe coding roughly eight months before recording this, having never written code in his life. His framing of why he stuck with it: "I don't know any code, but I love software and I love finding solutions for people, for businesses, for clients." So he built as many projects as he could and showed them off until clients appeared. The first real one came from proximity rather than market research. He has a friend who owns an insurance agency, and that friend's agents needed internal tools. His advice to viewers is exactly this, and it is the most useful sentence in the video: "think of companies and people that you know that need internal tools, things that would help them in their business, and find a niche that needs different software tools." His niche was insurance agents, and the reason he could reach them was a personal relationship, not a funnel. He built Insurance Sales Genie with a payment wall and authentication from the start, and the agency owner's plan is to sell it into his own agency and then to other agencies. On camera Zach opens what he calls receipts — a screenshot showing people paying $37 a month, or more where they have paid for multiple months. The second engagement came from reusing his own marketing asset. He had built a quiz-style lead generator for his own agency, Effortless AI, showed it to a med spa, and they wanted it for themselves. He states plainly: "I just received a 2500 for this AI quiz," and he is now building their version. The third line is one-to-one coaching. He has worked with three clients, some more than once, screen-sharing while they build in Bolt. This is a small business with small, real, specific receipts, and we have graded it accordingly.
The first customers came out of one friendship, not a funnel. Zach Babiarz built projects and showed them off until somebody wanted one: "I have a buddy who owns an insurance agency and his agents need a couple internal tools."

Data credibility: Founder-reported by a small creator (1,296 views), with one receipt shown and no totals. On camera Zach Babiarz opens a screenshot he took showing people paying $37 a month for Insurance Sales Genie, some across multiple months, but never states a subscriber count — so MRR cannot be computed from anything in the video and we have not estimated it. He states 'I just received a 2500 for this AI quiz' for the med spa engagement, and separately notes that build is still in progress, meaning that figure is money collected against undelivered work. He says he has worked with three one-to-one clients, some more than once, without giving a price. The headline claim is his own words: 'I've made thousands of dollars vibe coding.' Nothing is audited, no Stripe dashboard is shown in full, and the products (Insurance Sales Genie, Effortless AI, itworkshop.com) are named but their traffic and usage are not disclosed. The tooling account is specific and internally consistent (Tempo Labs originally, now Bolt, plus OpenAI and n8n), and he volunteers unflattering details — that the AI chat is trivial to build, that the intake form is not yet launched, that he has moved off the platform he built on — which we read as marks of honesty. What is entirely absent from the video and material to the business: any mention of insurance licensing, advice liability, or call-recording consent.
Two first dollars, arriving in opposite orders.
Nothing is compounding at scale yet, but the two mechanisms that would turn it are both visible in what he has built.
Eight months is the entire history here, and the early part had no customers in it at all. He had never written a line of code, and his account of that period is "I dove head first, built as many projects as possible and just showed them off."
